A tag issued once stays linked to a student for the whole year — across every course, seminar, and lab they’re enrolled in. Writing one at a time works fine for a new enrolment; a whole class roster is faster done in bulk.

From a student’s profile, tap a blank tag against the reader and it’s linked immediately — done while it’s still on the reader, no separate confirmation step.
Bulk-write a whole roster
Bulk writing walks through a serie’s roster in order, prompting for one tag per student in sequence. Each one shows live status — pending, writing, done, or failed — with automatic duplicate-tag detection and a retry option if a write fails, and you can jump in partway through a roster rather than starting from the first student every time.
Which tags to buy
Any standard writable NFC tag or card works — the NTAG-family tags commonly sold as ID badges, key fobs, wristbands, or stickers. They’re passive: no battery, nothing to charge, and inexpensive enough to hand out per student.
Copying a tag doesn’t work
Every read is checked against the physical hardware serial number registered to that student, not just the data written to the tag — cloning the data onto a second tag doesn’t pass the check.
