How it works, start to finish

Four stages cover the whole life of a term: setting up a course, issuing each student a way to be recognised, taking attendance in class, and turning the result into a record you can use.

1
Set up your course

Courses, seminars, and laboratories are organised into series — a cohort such as "Year 1, Bachelor" — and can be split into smaller groups for labs or seminar sections. Most of this is provisioned once by an administrator, but a teacher with the right permissions can create courses, series, and teacher assignments directly from the app too.

  • Log in with your institutional email and password, or tap an NFC tag if you’ve set one up for passwordless login
  • Open My Courses, My Seminars, or My Laboratories to see what’s already assigned to you
  • If you have permission, create a new course, serie, or a merged "common serie" for cross-cohort sessions from Associate Teacher Data
2
Issue each student an ID

Every student needs a way to be recognised at check-in — a QR code, an NFC tag, or both. Neither requires the student to install anything.

  • From Associate Student Data, pick a serie and write a blank NFC tag for a student on the spot
  • Or bulk-write tags for a whole roster in one pass — tap one tag per student in sequence, with live progress and duplicate detection
  • Generate a QR identity instead if you’d rather not use tags — printable, or saved by the student to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet
  • Each tag or QR code stays linked to that student’s profile — no re-registration needed next term unless it’s lost
3
Take attendance in class

Start a session for the serie or group you’re teaching, then mark students by whichever method fits the room.

  • Open the subject, tap Start Session, and pick the serie or group
  • Tap NFC tags, scan QR codes, bulk-scan a queue of students, or tap names manually
  • Every tag read is checked against that student’s own registered tag, so a copied tag doesn’t fool it
  • If the connection drops mid-class, marks keep saving on the device — nothing is lost until you hit Sync
4
Review and export

Attendance syncs to the cloud the moment you’re back online, and turns into records you can actually use.

  • Tap Sync to upload the session — roster totals update immediately
  • Open any student to see their full attendance history for the term
  • Export a catalog to Excel, a QR code archive, or wallet-pass bundles for a whole serie whenever you need one
