Where fingerprint readers make sense
A single fixed entry point with a controlled adult population, where a dedicated scanner can be mounted permanently and enrollment happens once.
Where NFC and QR make more sense
A classroom setting with minors — no biometric data is collected at all, nothing to touch that everyone else also touched, and a lost tag is replaced in seconds rather than requiring re-enrollment. Many regions also place extra regulatory weight on collecting biometric data from minors, which this approach sidesteps entirely.
